OUR SERVICE PROJECTS
Originally our staff members served our local community by providing free daily yoga classes, meditations and nutritional guidance.
Over the years, apart from our Learning Center, we had diverse projects for children with and without special needs in elementary schools. After various years serving in the public schools we opened our own little school for impoverished children and adults with disabilities that we ran until our Tashirat orphanage opened.
We opened the Tashirat orphanage because after years of serving the neediest sectors of society we realized that in all our service work, we were always up against the same wall. Our efforts were limited since the majority of children we worked with would have to go home to neglectful and/or abusive households. Therefore, we decided that the best we could ever do would be to give homeless children a real home and family.
The Tashirat Orphanage has been our primary service work since we received our first children in 2003. Most of our children, who were channeled to us from the Child Welfare (DIF) of our state, have learning disabilities, speech impediments and other special needs or disabilities. Many of our current staff members were initiators of the orphanage and have lived with our children ever since.
